ShaleStuff.com’s staff recently attended PIOGA’s Eastern Oil & Gas Conference and Trade Show at the Monroeville Convention Center to meet readers and unveil advertising opportunities now available on the site.
There was definitely plenty to see and hundreds of industry professionals to network with. There were more than 300 vendors in attendance. They varied and included equipment providers, hose manufacturers, staffing providers, supply chain companies, law firms, financial experts and institutions, environmental firms, engineering firms, and many more. There was something for everyone, and there was so much to learn.
ShaleStuff.com was of interest to many conference goers—both industry professionals who have either visited the site or heard of the site and many others who had the same question: “What is ShaleStuff.com and what do you do?”
Besides the valuable information available at the tradeshow, the conference also featured hot topics of interest in the industry. There were numerous sessions led by industry leaders and experts. Some of the topics included: Implementation of Act 13 and DEP update, Federal Update and National Outreach, and Harrisburg Update
There was also a special screening of the film “Truthland.”
The second day of the conference offered concurrent “sessions” on various topics including: water treatment, Ohio regulations, HR safety and regulatory compliance software, and revenue royalty accounting litigation and deal structure.
Highlights of the conference (according to the ShaleStuff.com staff):
- Learning about new processes and technologies.
- Seeing interesting businesses thrive and succeed because of the natural gas boom. Rig Maids was one of them. They are a neat little cleaning business that services rig sites. They are an example of a company that is an unexpected success story born with the boom.
- It was a great place for b2b networking.
- It was interesting to see and learn about how businesses have developed or adapted products to work in the shale oil industry.
